Kevin Oliver, Trainer for Snaffle Bit Quarter HorsesHead trainer, Kevin Oliver is an AQHA world champion qualifier who strives to bring out the best in every horse he works with.

While growing up on the northern rim of the Palo Duro Canyons Kevin developed a strong work ethic. He and his brothers were always known for being hard workers, whether it was building barbed-wire fence, bucking hay or working the wheat and corn harvest.

Kevin team roped while attending Canyon High School and competed on the intercollegiate team as he earned his bachelors degree in Animal Science from West Texas State University in Canyon.  He found himself paying the bills by breaking horses, contracting the care on cattle turned out on wheat and grass pasture, day-working on several area ranches, and spending several years cowboying in feedyards. Kevin always had a knack to make what talent a horse had "really shine."

After college, Kevin then took a job on a Paint horse ranch as a resident trainer. Hired to train and show heading and heeling horses, he consistently found himself asked to show some of the ranche's western pleasure, reining and working cow horses. There, he found a new respect for finesse.

Over the years, Kevin honed his reining skills by riding with as many top hands that he could ride with.  He tells his students "Be a sponge, soak up as much knowledge as you can, from whomever you can."

Today, Kevin holds close to his roots and is willing to help anyone that has a sincere Kevin Oliver from Snaffle Bit Quarter Horsesdesire to be a better horseman.  He is a member of the AQHA Professional Horseman's Association and the NRHA Professionals.  Kevin also serves as a board member for the Panhandle Golden Spread Quarter Horse Association.
